Professional Experience

The UC Professional Experience program is an opportunity for preservice teachers to engage with professional educational communities in schools, early childhood education and care settings, and other educational settings. Professional Experience units place students in their relevant teaching areas to learn different aspects of professional practice within different educational settings in local schools as placement.  The completion of placement days is a requirement to register as a teacher with the Teachers Quality Institute (ACT) and NSW Institute of Teachers.

Please note, all professional experience placements are formally arranged by the University Student Centre Placement Office Coordinators.  Students (preservice teachers) and/or members of their family should not make direct contact with teachers in schools to arrange placements.

Please note: from January 25th 2019, job opportunities for Teacher Education students will no longer be advertised on this site.

All education job opportunities will now be advertised on the Careers UC page (link is here) in order to make sure that jobs have been properly vetted.  Please remember that many opportunities come up throughout the year - from relief teaching, to child care, to overseas placements. Check this link regularly!
